Annual Report 2024-2025

For the Fiscal Year July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025

A note from the Executive Director

In a head-spinning time when both the arts and journalism are under attack, I feel like keeping our little corner of the news world cooking is an act of defiance, mixed with tenacity, love, duty, and a little whisper of a miracle.

I am incredibly grateful for the 91 people who had a hand in producing our work last year, and for the mounting number of funders, donors, and sponsors who make our vital journalism possible. In a testament to how we’re growing, last year our page views increased 28%, and our individual donations grew an astonishing 42%.

As the country faces urgent threats to creativity, education, and intellectual freedom, we are determined to keep publishing our essential journalism to make sure the public stays informed. News is a catalyst for connection and change. If the arts are all about innovation, joy, and necessary commentary about contemporary society, we are here to make sure our community stays civically engaged so that, together, we can discover healing solutions to find a positive way forward.
