PDX Jazz Festival brings the rhythm to town

More than 70 national and local acts, including Terence Blanchard and Eryka Badu, take to city stages Feb. 20-March 1 during the 2025 Biamp Portland Jazz Festival.

Beginning Thursday, Feb. 20, Portland welcomes some of the top figures in contemporary jazz when the 2025 Biamp Portland Jazz Festival swings into action.

Multiple Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard kicks things off with a Thursday concert in the Newmark Theatre with E-Collective and the Turtle Island String Quartet. Also on the bill: Portand drummer Cory Limuaco and his group Bridging Thoughts, featuring Sam Arnold on bass, Noah Simpson on horn, Charlie Brown on keys, and Sam “Celly” Edelmann on turntables.

The festival continues through March 1 at more than 35 venues: See the complete lineup of 70-plus acts here. This year’s festival freely mixes national and international performers including Blanchard, Eryka Badu, Jazzmeia Horn, The Philharmonik, The Arab Blues, and Pahua with local stars including Jimmie Herrod, Arietta Ward, Shirley Nanette, and the Mel Brown B3 Organ Group.
