June is the month of weddings and graduations, and no ceremony is complete without its corresponding music. Put your knowledge of those tunes to the test with this latest crossword puzzle.

June is the month of many a university, high school, and even kindergarten graduation. It’s also the most popular month for weddings. We all know the music that accompanies these ceremonies and many more moments in life.

We sit in sorrow with Elgar’s “Nimrod” and Barber’s Adagio for Strings. And British coronations have included Zadok the Priest since Handel wrote it for George II. Works such as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana have found their way into grand occasions. Vivaldi’s “Spring” sparkles with energy; Pachelbel’s Canon implies that something small can rise to greatness.

You might be surprised that the music of an Oregon composer introduced a fictional Pope. Or that something “presidential” was once a folk tune. But what we all know for certain is that where we gather for life’s moments, there is music.

Enjoy.  And congratulations to those with new diplomas and wedding bands.
